The home health aide (HHA) is the foundation of home based care for America, and are there to provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for their clients. In New Jersey, the HHA must be Certified by the NJ Board of Nursing to legally provide personal care. As a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), you are not just fully trained support your client, but you are also cleared by the State of NJ as having no criminal record.

Personal care ADLs include bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, ambulating. You may also be asked to assist with checking of vital signs. This support is invaluable to the client and their family. The HHA can also provide other general support like driving, shopping, companionship, light housekeeping and cooking. The HHA or CHHA is one of the most personally rewarding careers in health care.
